I'm very amazed and dumfounded to know that Christians in Malaysia generally would vote Barisan Nasional. The reason for this I'm told is that they don't want to 'rock the boat'. This brings me to a passage in the Holy Bible (Al-Kitab to some) when the postles were stricken with fear when their boat was rocked by a violent storm. This my friends, was going on while Jesus was sitting relaxed in the boat with them.
Seeing the anxiety and fear in his apostles, Jesus commanded for the storm to stop and normalcy returned. Jesus turned to His Apostles and ticked them off for their lack of faith. Today, 2000 years later, we are witnessing another storm in our midst in a boat called KD Malaysia.
It appears to me that Christians in this country are more concerned about Satan, the End of Days, being Born Again and Saved, Spiritual Warfare, condemming everyone else (except themselves) to Hell and seeing the speck of dust in another person's eye when they have a log lodged in their own eye. They will do all these but not raise an eyebrow to stand up and speak up against the injustices that's going on around them.
The very faith that they proudly proclaim and profess is currently suffocated and sqeezed by the BN regime of Abdullah Badawa. Instead of being united for a common cause and struggle, instead of standing up for the Truth, these arm chair Christians choose not only to remain silent but also continue to vote for the BN!
Can't you Christians see Christ in the poor, the oppressed, the marginalized?! Can't you see Christ in the Orang Asli, Indians, migrants and ISA Detainees?! Why don't you, especially the Evangelicals reach out to othe Christians like the Orthodox, Anglicans, Catholics etc., since you are larger in numbers and together stop this continued scourging of the Lord by the BN regime of Abdullah Badawi and vote with conviction for the Opposition whether it is DAP. PKR or PAS. If you, as a Christian can't stand up for Christ, then I would say unto ye "Keris my ass!!!"

UMNO: Dulu, Kini & Selamanya?
Memang menghairankan betapa ceteknya minda manusia.
Hidup Malaysia! La haula wala quwwata illa billah bil aliyyil adzhim! Barkatu lillahi ta'ala!

Who is more racist?
We have been brought up believing that the West is racist and we should not think of immigrating to the West especially the United States. We are also told of how morally corrupt the West is. This has been the mantra of our beloved BN government all these year.
When I was living in the United States for 4 years, not even once was I discriminated against my race or my religion. not a single word was uttered against me even in jest regarding my race or religion. But lo and behold when I got back to this 'tanah tumpah DarahKu', I was immediately reminded of who I was. My race and my religion and even my mother tongue became a butt of jokes.
It is ironic that while we are preparing for our General Elections, the United States is also preparing for theirs. Our media has always projected that US as racist. People like Johan Fernandez from the Star use to feed us with a lot of crap about how racist the US was even though he was enjoying the hospitality of the Americans.
One just have to look at the on going US Democratic Nominations to see the sort of fallacy we have been fed with by the Malaysian media regarding American racism. If white Americans are racists, then explain to me why an African American like Barack Obama is leading a White like Hillary Clinton in the Caucus? In fact Obama got 58% of the White votes in Wisconsin.
Unfortunately, race and religion is still the order of the day here in Bolehland. Thus it is not surprising to find racists such as Ameruddin Badaruddin and Bang Mokhtar Raden being re-elected on the UMNO-BN ticket as their Constituency is Malay-Muslim majority. I thirst for the day when Malaysians vote not according to race or religion but according to Truth & Justice. Untill that day happens, the only thing I can say is "Keris my ass!!!

Malaysia & Islam Hadhari
There have been many instances where I have found that my rights as a non-Muslim citizen have been encroached upon. Prime Minister Badawi had remarked that non-Muslims in this country have accepted Islam Hadhari. He based this assumption on the basis of non-Malay BN component parties accepting Islam Hadhari. What baffles me is that many non-Muslim Malaysians don't even have an inkling what Islam Hadhari is all about, let alone accept it.
The views of the non-Muslim BN component parties does not represent the views of all non-Muslim Malaysians. For the record, I'm not against Islam Hadhari if it was meant for Muslims only. I respect Islam as I would respect any other religion. However, respecting Islam and accepting Islam or anything pertaining to Islam are two separate issues. I find nothing lacking in my religion that compels me to look at other faiths to complement my religion. To me, accepting Islam Hadhari or aspects of any other faith is simply diluting the sanctity of my faith. The silence we keep on this issue will be seen as acceptance of Islam Hadhari by the non-Muslim community in this country. The only way to break this silence is to do it with our votes come Election Day. Mr. Badawi, “Keris my ass!”

Elections Malaysia
It has been the trend through the years whenever the General Elections is called, we find people switching parties. These party hoppers are opportunists who must be rejected by the rakyat. Voters in Malaysia must also reject any party that accepts these people.
What's in a Pseudonym?!
Bulbir Singh wrote in The Sun the other day regarding pseudonyms. I would like to enlighten Mr. Singh as to why people use pseudonyms when they write in newspapers. Firstly, it is their right if they want to reveal their names or have a pseudonym for their letters.
Some people prefer to use one pseudonym or various pseudonyms for the different letters they write in the press. Many of these people only want to raise issues that are important to all of us and are not interested in promoting themselves in newspapers day in and day out like some people do. Some of these people who write frequently in the print media with their names mentioned often find themselves being featured in these newspapers.
Very often people don't put their names in their letters because they fear of repercussions especially when they write letters criticising the Government, it's leaders or it's policies or to expose abuses. This is especially so when the writer is a government servant. To be fair, I have been reading Mr.Singh's letters especially in the Star & Sun and have found it to be slanted towards the Government, it's leaders and it's policies and has nothing nice to say about opposing views and opinions. Whatever the case, it is within Mr. Singh's right to state his views and opinions and we must respect this. After all, this is what democracy is all about. Likewise, Mr. Singh should also appreciate and respect the rights and opinions of others even if they do so with a pseudonym.

Malaysian Politics
Malaysians will go to the polls on March 8, 2008. The ruling Barisan Nasional regime under PM Abdullah Badawi is looking for another landslide victory. In fact, some people within his party are boasting about a 100% clean sweep in some states!
What is Badawi and his oxymoron party thinking?! If the BN thinks that they can easily win 100% in this forthcoming elections, then why is there a need to have an election in the first place?
Already when you read the Malaysian newspapers or watch local TV you would be forgiven if you believe that the opposition in Malaysia are all evil and should not be voted in. This is more so when you read articles written in the BN controlled print media by so-called journalists such as Wong Chun Wai, V.K.Chin, Marc Lourdes, Joscelyn Tan and not forgetting a creepy crawler journalist called Karim 'Rascal' Raslan who pops out from the woodwork and appears in The Star come election time. Then of course, we have so-called loyal patriotic citizens who sent letters to the editor like the evergreen Bulbir Singh who sees no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil when it comes to the Badawi regime.
With all these jazz going around, how can one have free and fair elections in Malaysia. If you ask me, I would say "Keris my ass!!!"
