Development approval for Kg. Buah Pala given by Koh Tsu Koon's BN before issuance of land title

The last couple of days has seen the appearance of VCD's showing Pakatan Rakyat leaders making promises to the Kampung Buah Pala folk. However, after you read Himanshu Bhatt's article in The Sun below you will understand that the PR leaders were totally oblivious at that time of the dastardly wheeling and dealing done by the BN government under Koh Tsu Koon who together with his cohorts from Gerakan, Umno, MCA and MIC cheated the poor folks of Kampung Buah Pala who in turn were mislead and instigated by outsiders who were only interested in serving their own selfish interest at the expense of the KBP folk.

Remember, the missing files at KOMTAR when Pakatan Rakyat came to power? Even after coming to power, PR had to deal with BN/Umno sympathizers in the State Civil Service who were still doing the bidding for their masters. This explains why the title was then issued on March 27, 2008, after the full premium was paid on March 14, 2008, right under Pakatan Rakyat's noses. Where is MIC Youth leader T. Mohan now, after making so much noise earlier. After winning the MIC Youth post, he has now gone AWOL just like the other scumbags from the outside.

It is very clear here that this is another "SATU LAGI PROJEK KERAJAAN BARISAN NASIONAL" to bring down the Pakatan Rakyat Government of Penang. If there's anyone to blame for the sorry state of affairs the poor folks of KBP are in at the moment it would definitely be Sugumaran and Steven. The actions of these two individuals who consistently attacked PR without firing a single shot at the culprits BN, certainly did not help the KBP folks.

GEORGE TOWN (Sept 9. 2009): The Penang Land Office gave its green light for the "High Chaparral" purchaser to have its development planning application processed even though the land title had yet to be issued.
It is learnt that the office under the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) state government had certified in 2006 that it had no objection for Koperasi Pegawai Kerajaan Pulau Pinang to sign for its planning permission.

The cooperative had at that time not settled the full payment and therefore not been given the land title.

The consent to allow the planning approval process was made in two identical letters issued by the state Land and Mines Department to the cooperative on July 20, 2006, and Aug 30, 2006.

Copies of both the documents have been made available to theSun.

The letters noted that the cooperative for government officers in Penang had then only settled 10% of the premium charged at that time.

The letters also said the requirement for full payment was being held back as the cooperative had submitted an appeal for the premium to be reduced and the state authorities had yet to decide on the premium which was later cut from RM6.4 million to RM3.2 illion.

The letters also stipulated that the ownership of the land would "on an absolute basis" (secara mutlak) come under the cooperative once the premium was settled fully. The title was then issued on March 27, 2008, after the full premium was paid on March 14, 2008.

The Pakatan Rakyat government, which took power on March 8, 2008, thus had to issue the title as an administrative procedure after payment was fulfilled.

The land is earmarked for a commercial development project by developer Nusmetro Ventures (P) Sdn Bhd and residents of the 200-year-old settlement have been told to leave by the end of this week.
