8 Points to Salvation for Pakatan Rakyat

By Admin

Now that the dust has settled in Bagan Pinang, we are now hearing various opinions being put forward as to why Pakatan Rakyat (PR) did so badly in Bagan Pinang. The Scribe feels that if Pakatan Rakyat is ever going to knock out the Evil BN/Umno regime, it must act decisively now or the effects of 'Tsunami 2008' will be forever lost. PR has not shown itself to be a team. It does not seem to be able to stand up and speak clearly on what its direction is. In a nutshell, the voters of Bagan Pinang chose a corrupt leader (Isa Samad) - the devil they know rather than the PAS devil they don't know.

PR is not seen to be working but is spending its time and energy fighting within itself. PR must take the following bold measures:

1. PR must first quickly become a registered entity just like BN and must speak with a single voice. It cannot be seen as a Lego set that comes together only when there's a by-election.

2. The PR component parties (PKR, DAP and PAS) must have the political maturity and courage to expel any member, whether they are MP's or Assemblymen who act on their own against the spirit of Pakatan Rakyat. These individuals who behave more like BN members are like a cancer in PR and must be discarded even it means losing Parliamentary and State Assembly seats.

3. PR must have a common ideology which reflects the plural society that Malaysia is. PAS, DAP and PKR must be sincere in formulating this common ideology and have the courage to give up their ideals if they ever want Malaysians to take PR seriously.

4. PR must field candidates in constituencies from component PR parties that has the strongest support base and better election machinery in the constituency. PR must do away with sentiments and parochial politics and focus on the strengths of its component members to face off with BN.

5. PR leaders and members must refrain from attacking fellow component party leaders and members through the BN controlled mainstream media. PR must ensure that their members refrain from granting interviews to the BN controlled mainstream media which very often spins such interviews to paint PR as being in disarray and disunited without any chance for a rebuttal.

6. PR must sack any member who takes legal action against a fellow component party member. All problems within PR must be discussed within the confines of PR and not allowed to go public as things will be spin and twisted by the BN controlled mainstream media and pro-BN Bloggers.

7. PR component party members must ensure that only locals head local party divisions and not 'parachute' outsiders to head these divisions or even worse have outsiders 'parachuted' as election candidates.

8. Alternatively, PR should look into the suggestion of YM Raja Petra Kamaruddin that PKR, DAP and PAS merge and become a single entity known as Pakatan Rakyat unlike BN whose component parties are merely a marriage of convenience under the 'Whip' of racist and corrupt Umno. Read more

Brother, please don't trust Goh Wei Liang. He says that he supports YB Ong Tee Keat but does nothing to condemn what I see as Umno's interference of MCA. GWL thinks that Mahathir is somekind of Ang Kong to him. Now his 'Ang Kong' Mahathir wants YB Ong to resign and GWL is keeping quiet.

In don't trust Goh Wei Liang anymore. He pretends to support YB Ong and MCA but keeps quiet when Mahathir and Umno attacks YB Ong and MCA. I'm afraid brother that Umno is planning to split the Huaren in Malaysia and Goh Wei Liang appears to be helping them.
