Condom 1 Malaysia

By Anak Mami

UMNO has always been best at is none other than one trick to play double-sided, especially in the ethnic and religious subject. This racial antagonism as the policy of divide and rule, it may need to explains why 52 years of our independence has been not achieved true unity of all ethnic groups.

UMNO's political pet - MCA UMNO never stop this irresponsible behavior, instead of bending over backward putting the incident '513 'into these two ethnic antagonism with the best tool to gain political interests.

For example, in 1999 coincided with Mamak Mahathir led the National Front, the majority of Chinese newspapers published in Indonesian riots and '513 event 'photos. This move is threatened the success Chinese in the community, the main stream media is rely on 'fear of Chinese descent' to continue to govern Malaysia.

308 election, then campaign Selangor Petaling District congressional seat Chew Mei Fen also reposition itself in the 513 incidents the intimidation of Chinese voters to garner votes.

After 308 , Najib actively use public relations to shape inter-racial image of the media into projection of hi credibility, in the general trend. Intentionally or unintentionally, but he still continued to propagating and use of racial antagonism to gain his political interests. The most common example is controlled by UMNO, "Utusan Melayu" has been constantly playing a race issue.

Although the Government has repeatedly emphasized the importance of ethnic solidarity, or even to strengthen the unity of all ethnic groups, in the grounds of the implementation of national service programs. But the secret is not the official bodies which only interested of both sides who continue to play the game?

For example, under the Prime Minister department Biro Tatanegara were exposed to the extreme brainwashing of the young people. the non-indigenous described as 'outsiders', has repeatedly stressed Chinese is the master the country's economic lifeline. This kind of 'Malay supremacy' brainwashing not only for young but there are many civil servants have been victimized.

In addition to 513 events, the Malaysian Government is to create the tools of ethnic antagonism.
1999 Mamak Mahathir had agreed in principle of the election. However, after the election was being ungrateful for the participation of Malaysian Chinese group, be described as 'Chinese organizations'.

In a recent controversy, the government back on its words contradict the original settlement with the Malaysian commitment to the 'imaginary' and 'have been killing innocent people and police officers' reason for failing to forgive and not allow Ching Peng to return home through the rest of his life.

Malaysian has struggling in his own history. However, the Government is still fun and not weary about Malays as a loyal troops, willingly link the Chinese as the Malaysian bandits as tools to gain political interests.

1 Malaysia is still a pretty Crack's condom, did not guarantee that cannot be pregnant, Najib and regime did not feel the real change in people's unity.

PERCEPTIONS are not FACTS, Goh Wei Liang!

By Jeff Henry

"Good take Jeff Henry. Though I must correct you that the perception of Allah is synonymous to Islam exists not only within the minds of Malaysians but among people globally in China, India, US, UK, Australia etc."

Thank you. I already told you (Goh Wei Liang) that in my last response. You don't need to repeat it.

You see, the problem here now is not with the we, Christians, needs a Malay word for God. The problem lies to the fundamentals of human rights. "Allah" is not copyrighted, so NO ONE has the right to restrict anyone using the word. If the Herald wants to use it, it's their RIGHT. My previous church (I won't disclose the name), do use "Allah" in the Malay christian books.

I've seen our home minister (if I'm not mistaken), argued that it will confuse the Muslims. What does that mean? He was afraid that Muslims will leave their faith? As such, this shows low credibility is the Islamic education in Malaysia.

I also think that you still don't get what I mean. I already said that almost the whole world share this perception, a misleading perception indeed. With that said, what we should do is to correct the situation, not the AVOID it.

You (Goh Wei Liang) also said that this is a PERCEPTION. PERCEPTIONS are not FACTS.

If this goes on, we're just going to be a laughing stock of the world if we still keep this thinking, believe me.

If you want to convince me, please convince me with facts, not perceptions.

DIMANA BUDI BAHASA BUDAYA KITA?

Oleh Akil Adam

Aku amat terkilan bila melihat rancangan JANGAN TIDUR LAGI yang baru lepas dimana Saiful Apek yang jadi hos rancangan tersebut dgn jemputan artis undangan SHAMSHUL GHAO GHAO dan DATUK M DAUK KILAU yang begitu meriah sekali performance nya..... namun AMAT TERKILAN sekali dgn perangai si Shamshul Ghao Ghao yg tidak reti menunjukkan sopan terhadap orang yg lebih tua atau senior dalam serba serbi .... seperti Datuk M Daud Kilau. Memang dia tak reti RESPEK orang tua2. Apa yg hendak aku nyatakan adalah tentang si Shamsul ada menyampuk cakap Saiful Apek konon2nya nak bergurau lah .... tapi gurau yg menunjukkan awak tu berlagak 'kurang sopan' atau 'kurang ajar' terhadap Datuk M Daud Kilau dgn menyampuk kata2 yg disampaikan oleh si hos Saiful Apek dalam memperkenalkan personaliti yg unggul Datuk M Daud Kilau .... dengan si Shamsul pulak mematah ayat tu dgn memberi gelaran 'datin' pula ..... APA KE HAL NYA NI ? Tak kan sampai nak berlawak, nak berjenaka secara gurau-gurau hinggakan istilah 'datuk' dgn 'datin' pun tak tau nih?

ATAU dia (si Shamsul Ghao Ghao) tu sengaja nak memperlekehkan status kejantanan Datuk M Daud Kilau sebagai seorang lelaki? ....atau apa? ..... yg beliau seolah2 sudah tidak layak dipanggil dgn gelaran anugerah 'Datuk' lagi ..... maka dia (si Shamsul Ghao Ghao) ni mengguna istilah 'Datin' pulak untuk M Daud Kilau. APA KE JADAH NYA NI?

Apa si Shamsul anggap Datuk M Daud Kilau tu bukan lelaki ?

Sedarlah kediri sikit WAHAI SHAMSUL GHAO GHAO oi!
MALU LAH ..... BIKIN MALU SAJA!
BELAJAR2 LAH RESPEK ORANG!

Meluat melihat gelagat artis2 yg sebegitu.

GOD Is Great, Goh Wei Liang!

By Lawrence Leong

I am writting this in response to your (GOH WEI LIANG) invitation for opinions. I fully agree with you, that all are entitled to our opinions. Simply put, this is known as freedom of speech. Having said that, I believe the majority of us would prefer opinions that are well researched, especially, if one is to discuss on a great subject such as religion, more so in this case because in Judaism, Christianity and Islam we share the same Abrahamic genus. Since you wrote based on second hand informations, this gives rise to the credibility of your article, quote,' based on consultations with my friends whom are well versed in Christianity'.

I also fully agree with you that Allahuakbar is Arabic translated into English, meaning God is great. The reason I don't translate, Allah is great ( which He is) is because you are mixing one Arabic word with two English words, which is not a complete translation.

You also said, quote,' are Christians in church uttering such words as well?'. The answer is no, not in Arabic because Christians, with exceptions, in Malaysia do not speak Arabic. However, Arab Christians will have no problem with saying, Allahuakbar, as per King James version:-

Deu 7;21- 'you shall not be terrified of them, for the Lord your God, the Great and awsome God is among you'.

Deu 10;17- ' for the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the Great God, might and awsome, who shows no partiality, nor takes a bribe'.

1 Samuel 12;22- 'for the Lord will not forsake His people, for the Great name's sake because it has pleased the Lord to make His people'.

2 Samuel 7;22- ' therefore you are Great O Lord God, for there is NONE like You, nor is there any God beside You, according to all that we have heard with our ears'.

The last quote should convince all that Christianity is a monotheistic religion. For those who needmore convincing, this is our first commandment,' I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have NO Other God before Me. The above-mentioned quotes in reference to the greatness is by no means exhausted.

In refering to the Holy Qu'ran, as translated by Abdullah Yusuf Ali, on page 19, under Surah 1- Al Fatihah. This is quoted as per translated, purely for the purpose of its translation.

Quote, ' In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Praise be to God, the Cheriser and Sustainer of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgement. Note the obvious, the translator uses the word God instead Allah.

I will close with Revelation 19;16 in Greek, Basilaygay basilayon, Kikuria kikurion (sic)-King of kings, Lord of lords.

God bless.

Malaysian Maverick: Mamak Mahathir in Turbulent Times

Putar belit ikut steling biawaknya,. Se pandai pandai Mamak Mahathir membohongi orang afrika, tetapi manalah berupaya menutup kes rasuannya sendiri dimata rakyat?

Kalau nak hapuskan dinosaur baiklah elok rakyat bunuh UMNO hingga titik darah terakhir.

Allah Is Also My God

By Jeff Henry

To Mr Goh (Wei Liang).

"Well, everyone is entitled to their opinions but my opinions are founded based on consultation with my friends whom are well versed in Christianity"

You see, gathering just opinions from your christian friends cannot prove that you're right. Are your christian friends a typical Malaysians? If yes, then I see why they said so.

I can probably guess that almost all Malaysians will think a person as a Muslim when the person says "Allah" and its derivatives. Well, that's the norm that we have now.

Hope there is no hard feeling on Muslim friends here, but I can see that some non-muslims are prejudiced against the muslim. This is the typical situation that I saw from my experience: If a non-muslim is called "Muhammad" or whatever that is related to Islam, they will think it's an insult.

Again, I would like to say no hard feelings on our Muslim friends here, but this is the truth.

Anyway, the point that I'm trying to state here is that, Arabic terms is being perceived as "Islamic", meaning, if a person speaks Arab, he'll be thought as a muslim. Typical malaysian thinking. Of course, there are some that are excluded.

So, back to your friend's case I just can probably make my best guess that they fall on THAT category? When I say this, I don't mean that they're prejudiced against Islam, just they're in the social norm circle who shares the thinking of the previous paragraph.

What about Indonesian Christians? They do use Allah as their worship songs.

"Moreover, in the United States, a highly populated Christianity country, the mention of Allah will provide a first hand impression that the person is a Muslim."

That's exactly the same situation as above. Perhaps almost whole world share this type of thought.

"Naturally, I see a solution in asking Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka to come up with a word - a Malay word - to represent the God in the Christianity religion."

I see your point, but remember, Judaism, Christianity and Islam are closely related. In fact, I have the a reason to say that these three religion actually worship the same God! (I know some muslims friends will disagree).

I'm not going to be very detail in it, but Islam refers Jews and Christian as "People of the Book" right? And Islam claims that the Qur'an is the final revelation of God (Allah) to the people. So what does that mean? This means that the same God (Allah) that works it all?

With that said, restricting other religion to mention Allah, can say it's unreasonable. After all, we might be talking to the same God!

This is my reply to "Anonymous" post regarding Shahada.

Yes, I see your point. I can see what you mean, but here's the thing.

There's actually a difference between "god" and "God". If see see religious texts carefully, like the Bible, when it says god (or gods) it refers to the idols (probably Roman gods). The Bible refers God the Father as God not god.

And I know the shahada reads:
"There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah". (wikipedia)

Perhaps you can clarify that it doesn't matter with capital G or small letter g. Then, I might take back what I've said.

By the way, I have something to add here:

Just that other religion don't use Allah, it doesn't mean that it's illegal to use it

With that said, I wait for your response. Thank you.

ISLAM & THE 2012 PROPHECY

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Benevolent.

Using prime numbers and the Holy Quran, a hidden reference is found in the Islamic lunar year 1433 Hijri with day by day account of 31 minor punishments to those who belie God’s bounties and signs between 7th January 2012 and 7th November 2012 to be followed by a major earth shattering event (possibly on 21st Dec 2012 as predicted by the Mayan Calendar).

Here are the details:

The Quran starts with a chapter called The Key (الفاتحة) that consists of 7 verses, 29words and 139 letters.

“In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Benevolent.”
“All praise to Allah, Sustainer of all the worlds.”
“The Merciful, the Benevolent.”
“Master of the Day of Judgment,”
“You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help.”
“Guide us to the Right Path:”
“The path of those whom You have bestowed your bounties upon;
not of those who have brought upon themselves Your wrath,
nor of those who went astray.”

Chapter #55 The Merciful (الرحمن) has 31 repetitions of the verse:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أعوذ بالله من الشيطٰن الرجيم
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

"What other bounties of your Sustainer do you still belie"
These 31 repetitions occur at verse numbers:

13, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 45,
47, 49, 51, 53, 55, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75, 77

The sum of the verse numbers is 1433.

1433 is a prime number
and 1+4+3+3=11 is a prime too

The current Islamic lunar year is 1430AH therefore
1433 may be a pointer to the year 1433AH

The Merciful chapter consists of 355 words with bismAllah.
The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar with 354−355 day years.
The year 1433AH is to have exactly 355 days, the same as the number of words in The Merciful chapter.
Therefore, the prime number 1433 is a pointer to the year 1433AH which maps to the Gregorian year 2012AD

Prime 1433 points to
1433AH which is 2012AD

The repeated Merciful verse has 4 words
Mapping words to days in 1433AH shows that the 31 verse repetitions map directly to 31 4-day periods starting on 7th Jan 2012 and ending on 7th Nov 2012 with possible minor events as per chapter #44 The Smoke:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أعوذ بالله من الشيطٰن الرجيم
Quran 44:10فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍۢ مُّبِينٍ

“Look out for a day when the sky brings a revealing smoke.”

“We are lifting the punishment a little (due to your sincere pleas)
but you will soon be back to your old ways.”

Followed by a BIG event as God continues saying:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أعوذ بالله من الشيطٰن الرجيم
Quran 44:16 يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ

“On a day when we seize you with a mighty onslaught;
We are taking revenge.”
The word “مُنتَقِمُونَ” or “taking revenge” can be seen as a revenge on those who belie the bounties (ءَالَآءِ) of their Sustainer.

Plus evidence that the sun will be blocked out suddenly is given in:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِأعوذ بالله من الشيطٰن الرجيم
Quran 36:37 وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ

“And a sign for them the night We peel daylight out of it and behold
they are plunged into darkness.”

But only God Almighty knows and controls what happens and praise to Him He has named the chapter The Merciful J so look out for a new spiritual awaking and a new beginning for mankind.

These are SIGNS related to the end of times according to Islamic sources:

Wild animals will be gathered into captivity and kept in collections in pens and cages.

Murder will be considered a minor act.

Men will get payment for their reproductive organs (artificial fertilization).

The Last Hour shall not occur until wealth will increase among you and become enormous, until a man takes out the charity due from his wealth but will find none to accept it, until the land of the Arabs becomes meadows and rivers.

The Last Hour shall not occur until wealth will increase among you and become enormous, and the owner of wealth will search for one entitled to the charity due on it; and he will present it and the person to whom it will be presented will say "I have no need of it;" and barefooted shepherds will compete with each other in the building of tall buildings.

The slave girl will give birth to her owner .

suggests that recent increases in IQ in many nations may have been
partly a result of the worldwide decrease in the use of corporal
punishment by parents.

"The longitudinal part of our study showed that children who were
spanked the most fell behind the average IQ development curve, and
those who were never spanked advanced ahead of the average," Dr.
Straus said. He presented his results at the 14th International
Conference on Violence, Abuse and Trauma in San Diego, California.

"That suggested to us that nations that use more corporal punishment
of children would have more kids falling behind what they could have
achieved, which might result in lower average national IQ, and that is
what we found when we looked at data from 32 countries," he added.

To determine the longitudinal effects of spanking, Dr. Straus and
colleague Mallie Paschall, PhD, senior research scientist at the
Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, studied nationally
representative US samples of 806 children aged 2 to 4 years and 704
children aged 5 to 9 years. Both groups were retested 4 years later.

The IQs of children aged 2 to 4 years who were not spanked were 5
points higher 4 years later than the IQs of those who were spanked.
The IQs of children aged 5 to 9 years who were not spanked were 2.8
points higher 4 years later than the IQs of children the same age who
were spanked.

Slows Mental Development

"How often parents spanked made a difference. The more spanking, the
slower the development of the child's mental ability. But even small
amounts of spanking made a difference," Dr. Straus said.

Next the researchers examined data from the 32-nation International
Dating Violence Study, which included 17,404 students at 68
universities in 32 nations. This study included 2 questions asked to
assess experiences of corporal punishment:

* "I was spanked or hit a lot by my parents before age 12."
* "When I was a teenager, I was hit a lot by my mother or father."

Possible responses were strongly disagree, disagree, agree, and strongly agree.

The researchers used the percentage of students who agreed or strongly
agreed to estimate the corporal punishment rate in each nation. They
then correlated those rates with data on national average IQ. The
analysis controlled for 10 variables including mother's education
level and socioeconomic status.

The analysis showed a lower national average IQ in nations where
spanking was more prevalent. Dr. Straus said that the strongest link
between corporal punishment and IQ was for those whose parents
continued to use corporal punishment even when subjects were
teenagers.

"I was surprised that this link was so strong," Dr. Straus said. "It
was logical, but lots of logical things don't work out."

Economic Implications

The correlation between corporal punishment and IQ has major economic
implications, as several studies have shown that gross domestic
product is closely related to national average IQ, Dr. Straus said.

The researchers suggest 2 possible explanations for the association
between corporal punishment and lower IQ.

First, corporal punishment is extremely stressful and can become a
chronic stressor for young children, who typically experience corporal
punishment 3 or more times a week. For many, it continues for years.

Research shows that the stress of corporal punishment shows up as an
increase in posttraumatic stress symptoms, such as being fearful that
terrible things are about to happen and being easily startled. These
symptoms are associated with lower IQ.

Second, a higher national level of economic development underlies both
fewer parents using corporal punishment and a higher national IQ.

The good news is that the use of corporal punishment has been
decreasing worldwide, which may signal future gains in IQ across the
globe.

"The worldwide trend away from corporal punishment is most clearly
reflected in the 24 nations that legally banned corporal punishment by
2009. Both the European Union and the United Nations have called on
all member nations to prohibit corporal punishment by parents. Some of
the 24 nations that prohibit corporal punishment by parents have made
vigorous efforts to inform the public and assist parents in managing
their children. In others, little has been done to implement the
prohibition," Dr. Straus said.

"Nevertheless, there is evidence that attitudes favoring corporal
punishment and actual use of corporal punishment have been declining
even in nations that have done little to implement the law and in
nations which have not prohibited corporal punishment," he added.

Problem Child? Ask Whether Parents Are Spanking

Dr. Straus says the findings have immediate clinical implications. One
of the first things physicians should do when working with a child who
has behavioral problems is to ask the parents about spanking.

If parents are spanking in an attempt to control behavior, they need
to be told this is not effective and only serves to model an aversive
style of interaction, said Dr. Straus. Instead, clinicians should ask
how much punitive vs positive discipline is applied.

"You want to shift the balance away from punitive discipline, such as
corporal punishment or verbal violence...toward positive discipline,
such as explaining, praising, and rewarding the kid, and not just
paying attention when the child is doing something wrong," said Dr.
Straus.

Dr. Straus strongly emphasized that foregoing punitive discipline does
not mean halting other forms of discipline. He also noted that "one of
the most closely held secrets in child psychology" is that with
children age 2 years or under, no form of discipline really works.

"The recidivism rate for bad behavior is about 50% within 2 hours and
100% within 24 hours in 2-year-olds," Dr. Straus said. "This is true
no matter what you do, because those children might understand that
what they have done is wrong, but they do not have the developmental
control of their behavior that enables them not to repeat it. With
2-year-olds, you just have to be consistent and keep using positive
discipline over and over."

Correlation Clear, Cause Uncertain

Elizabeth Gershoff, PhD, associate professor in the Department of
Human Development and Family Sciences, University of Texas at Austin,
who herself conducted research into the effects of corporal punishment
by parents on children, told Medscape Psychiatry that Dr. Straus has
observed "an interesting association between national levels of
corporal punishment of children, experiences of stress, and IQ," but
that it is premature to suggest a causal connection.

She noted that other phenomena that might explain why corporal
punishment has gone down and IQ has gone up include increasing levels
of education. Better-educated parents use less corporal punishment and
are more likely to engage in activities that support children's IQ
such as reading to them or helping them with homework, she noted.

Dr. Gershoff added that the model Dr. Straus has suggested is in line
with previous research, but that the mechanism by which spanking may
lead to lower cognitive abilities remains unclear.

"I am cautious about making causal conclusions about what reducing
corporal punishment would do at a country level," Dr. Gershoff said.
"It is possible that reducing parents' reliance on corporal punishment
may improve children's IQ scores, but I would suggest that would only
be the case if parents are able to substitute positive and nonpunitive
discipline in the place of corporal punishment."

The study was supported by the National Institute of Mental Health and
the University of New Hampshire. The authors have disclosed no
relevant financial relationships.

14th International Conference on Violence, Abuse and Trauma:
Presentation KF3. Presented September 25, 2009."

Personal note: I have never caned any of my children, neither has my
spouse. We use other means to discipline our kids. We have always felt
that caning children contributes to a brutal society, now thanks to
the above study we know it also contributes to a dumb society.

Goh Wei Liang's Rebuttal About Allah

Goh Wei Liang said...

MarGeeMar, publish my comments as a blog entry ?

I only see you publishing articles against me, but rarely or have never provide blog entries for my rebuttals.

November 22, 2009 1:09 PM

Admin Note:

Here is your rebuttal Goh Wei Liang as you requested.

By Goh Wei Liang

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinions but my opinions are founded based on consultation with my friends whom are well versed in Christianity.

I do however want to know some things. If I am not mistaken, Allahuakbar is an Arabic word which means Allah is great.

Are Christians in Church uttering such words as well ?

I wonder. And I hope to hear opinions.

Moreover, in the United States, a highly populated Christianity country, the mention of Allah will provide a first hand impression that the person is a Muslim.

Am I not right in these arguments?

You see, some might say they won't need to utter Allahuakbar. But they might just say Allah ku maha esa or something along this line.

As such, the problem boils down to just needing a Malay word since the Christians in East Malaysia use Malay language.

Naturally, I see a solution in asking Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka to come up with a word - a Malay word - to represent the God in the Christianity religion.

You Are Nothing But SHIT, MaSHITah !

"...it was commendable for the orphanage to take the initiative to preach about Islam and convert Banggarma to Islam."

- Dr. Mashitah Ibrahim, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department

By Admin

Banggarma Subramaniam 27 (right), was in a government welfare home, Rumah Kanak-kanak in Taman Bakti, Kepala Batas, when she and several other children, some of whom were Chinese, were told by Perkim and the Penang Muslim Affairs Council to take the oath and renounce her original Hindu faith. At the time of her 'conversion', Banggarma was only 7 years old.

Banggarma married S. Sockalingam, 31, according to Hindu rites, but could not register the marriage as, according to the National Registration Department, she was a Muslim. She also could not name Sockalingam as father of their two children, Kanagaraj, 8 and Hisyanthini, 2, in their birth certificates due to this.

In response to this, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Dr Mashitah Ibrahim (above left) said while it was commendable for the orphanage to take the initiative to preach about Islam and convert Banggarma to Islam, it was also its responsibility to teach her about the religion. Mashitah even had the audacity to say, "It should be followed with the efforts to bring her up according to true Islamic teachings and way of life,".

Does the Deputy Minister know that the orphanage is run by the Government? Does she know that the Constitution clearly states that a minor cannot be converted to another religion?

The Malaysia Hindu Sangam Penang, Penang MIC Youth, and the Hindu Youth Organisation Penang came out with 'guns blazing' by saying that welfare care must take into account the needs of all cultures to help the 1 Malaysia concept succeed. Do you believe these clowns? They are still talking about Najib Razak's 1 Malaysia Bullshit. They don't even have the guts to take Dr. Mashitah to task for giving tacit approval to what Rumah Kanak-kanak in Taman Bakti, Kepala Batas and many other Government run orphanages are doing in converting minors to Islam.

It appears that Dr. Mashitah's statement is very much the stand of the BN/Umno regime of Najib Razak when it comes to religion especially the conversion of minors to Islam. This my friends, is what 1 Malaysia is all about. Shame on all those who claim to be Taoist, Buddhist, Christian, Baha'i, Hindu or Sikh but continue to be members or supporters of BN.

The policies of the Evil BN/Umno regime of Najib Razak when dealing with the religious rights of minorities in Malaysia goes against the true teachings of Islam. BN/Umno is actually giving Islam a bad name. Muslims must do their part to ensure that BN/Umno does not hijack Islam for its own agenda. All Muslims MUST REJECT BN/Umno and come together with their non Muslim Brothers and Sisters as ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA.

Malaysian Frogology Chronicles

By Vijay Kumar Murugavell

"Frog" has become a despised word in the Malaysian political lexicon, it conjures up images of treachery, betrayal and moral ineptitude.
To the uninitiated it is slang for an elected representative having stood for elections and voted into office under a particular party banner
decides to change affiliations leaving voters in a quandary.

History
This phenomenon is nothing new and has been around since 1967, Datuk Payar Juman was the first original political frog.He was from UPKO Momugan.
He hopped to USNO and caused the collapse of UPKO government and subsequently resulted in the dissolution of UPKO while many screamed "UP yours"
You however will not find his feat mentioned in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) along with other dubious mentions like a 200 meter long Otak-Otak (fish fillet)
and equally 'takda otak' (brainless) endeavors. There is however mention of the worlds smallest frog so maybe we do have something to 'croak' about.

Back to political frogs, after the loophole for circumventing the voters will was discovered it was honed to a fine art.The federal government has used this shameful method to topple on several occasions the opposition in Sabah. The biggest mass defections happened in 1976 when Harris Salleh conspired with Donald Stephens (Changed name to Fuad Stephens after his conversion to Islam) to topple the then Chief Minister Dato Mustapha Harun.
In 1978 opposition stalwart Lim Kit Siang had suggested a Members of Parliament (Prevention of Defection) Act, which he proposed in a private member’s bill that
"when an elected MP resigns or is expelled from the party on whose ticket he was originally elected, then he should resign his seat and cause a by-election to be held. If he can get a new mandate from the voters in the by-election, he can then return to Parliament".
Obviously Lim Kit Siang's advice was not heeded and 'political froggery' continued unabated especially in Sarawak during the latter part of the 1980's and beyond.
East Malaysia 'frogging' activities were so numerous that reading about it alone will leave one gasping for breath, as such I will not delve further into it,
instead I will attempt to chronicle some of the controversial ones that happened in Peninsular Malaysia after which I will offer some suggestions on how to curb it in
the interest of voter rights.

Sharir Samad - Genus : Al-Kataki Al Berani (Brave Frog)
In 1988, Johor Baru MP, Shahrir Abdul Samad resigned from his seat and daringly stood in a by-election as an independent,
He won as an Independent, leaving no doubt that his constituents stood behind him.
Shahrir resigned to protest against what happened in Umno between then party president Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his challenger Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
UMNO ended up with an egg on their face which led to a constitutional amendment in 1990 to incorporate Article 48(6). which bans elected representatives from standing in elections for (5) five years upon their resignation from a state assembly or Parliament.
It is this law that prevents one from going back to their constituents for a referendum even if there are justifiable reasons to switch parties or even stand as an independent in the event there are irreconcilable differences with their own party on policy issues that affect the rakyat.
This law has also been a ready made excuse when political frogs are challenged to go back to the rakyat for a mandate, even worse there are ignorant folk
who challenge the "frog" to stand in a by-election totally oblivious to the fact there is such a law in place.

Ibrahim Ali - Genus : Al- Kataki tak syukur Al Boroi (Ungrateful pot bellied frog)
He stood for the 2008 general elections under a PAS ticket in Pasir Mas - Kelantan, the principled PAS spiritual adviser Tok Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat allowed him to remain an independent. In the early stages Tok Guru graciously invited him to join PAS but Ibrahim Ali thanked the venerable Tok Guru but politely declined.
He had raised the ire of many for his antics in Parliament, which are well documented and I will not delve into further.
He then started attacking PAS which drew many calls from within and outside PAS chastizing him as ungrateful amid calls for him to step down.
Ibrahim Ali was quoted by a Malay tabloid as saying that Nik Abdul Aziz should step down as he was already old and had failed to develop Kelantan.
Talk about back-stabbing !
He then clearly made known that he was mulling rejoining UMNO, this did not come as a surprise to many who had opined long ago that he is likely
to pull off such a stunt.Upset with the lampooning of many calling him frog, to the stage his name had become synonymous with the term "frog" he composed
a short story about "Frogs And Blue-Eyed Houseflies" http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/newsindex.php?id=450664 in which he likens frogs as better than
the green housefly that carries disease wherever it goes and the frog is merely helping to rid us of this menace, insinuating Anwar Ibrahim is that fly.
Mighty big talk for one who was not only defeated in the Pengkalan Pasir state by-election in 2005 but also lost his deposit while Anwar won
by a landslide in the Permatang Pauh by-election.

V.Arumugam - Genus : Nalla Taukelai (Tamil for good frog)
Bukit Selambau - Assemblyman V. Arumugam resigned on February 9, 2009 triggering a by-election.
He had initially contested and won on an Independent ticket in the last general elections, without much fanfare and public notice he hopped to PKR.
The reasons why Arumugam quit was appended in a statutory declaration which he wrote. In the declaration he stated that he no longer could stand threats he had been receiving from certain parties besides alleged attempts from people claiming to represent the Barisan Nasional (BN) who offered him up to RM5 million to cross over to the coalition. He also demanded that past police reports he made on this be looked into.He also claimed that he and his family had also been harassed a number of times since last year’s general election despite declining the offers.
The mainstream media and BN factions played up the theory that Arumugam is embroiled in a morality issue for allegedly marrying another woman through customary rites without divorcing his wife. While playing up the infidelity claims the statutory declaration is ignored.
If indeed it was infidelity, why has his whole family disappeared ? How can he fabricate police reports lodged soon after the general elections ?

Nasarudin Hashim - Genus : Al-Kataki klek-kluk (Flip-flop frog)
When Bota assemblyman Nasarudin Hashim defected to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) many did not foresee the
beginning of a BN coup in Perak. After all former Perak Menteri Besar Tajol Rosli had warned that Perak will fall by Independence day
31st August 2008.This date had passed without incident, instead more than four months later a BN assemblymen had hopped to Pakatan.
Many started dismissing BN's talk of toppling the Perak Pakatan government as mere posturing and rhetoric.
Nasarudin in a press statement released a day after he hopped waxed lyrical that after long consideration and study he found PKR to be the ideal
platform, link to the bi-lingual press statement here http://anwaribrahimblog.com/2009/01/25/adun-bota-dato-nasarudin-hashim-menyertai-pkr/
He even said that when he went to meet his constituents, the crowd that met him was even bigger than the one that greeted him during the general elections.
This he said, showed that the constituents supported his move. When the Perak government fell,He was later to merrily hop back to UMNO.
In a seemingly scripted TV3 interview after he went missing and the coup became fait accompli , he said that he was rejoining UMNO for the good of
his constituents drawing protests and groans from many.
Double-frogging is nothing new, Ulu Rajang MP Justine Jinggut elected on a SNAP ticket in the 1982, hopped to PBDS in 1983. In 1986, he contested
on a PBDS ticket and won. He hopped back to SNAP before 1987. In 1990 he stood on a SNAP ticket and was soundly defeated by Billy Abit Joo of PBDS.
While Justine's frogging escapades was over a span of eight years, Nasaruddin's double-frogging was executed in a mere 10 days !

Hee Yit Foong - Genus : Huai Qing Wa (Mandarin for bad frog)
Before the Perak government was toppled, Jelapang DAP assemblywoman was among the four co-conspirators who went missing.
Accusations that she was defecting began to surface,She demanded an apology from Lim Kit Siang for suspecting she was defecting, about how she was with DAP for more than 20 years and would be sad to leave the party, in the end she defected as all were suspecting.
She said that her constituents love her, and she goes to Jelapang often, and that some of her beloved constituents are concerned for her safety, but the fact is the last time she arrived in a silver Mercedes, there was a mob protest, her new assistant was so fearful that he told her to leave immediately for her safety.People in Jelapang were burning her photos with hell money. Her parents home and her service center was pelted with stones.Even the landlord asked her to vacate her service center.
She was vilified and called all sorts of unsavory names some of them unprintable. Then is a particularly tumultuous state assembly sitting where Speaker Sivakumar
was unceremoniously carried out like a sack of potatoes, she was captured on camera brandishing a pepper spray.
She flipped flopped on the pepper spray incident- from outright denial, later stating it was a hotel key chain , then finally when a blowup of the photo showing without a
doubt that it was pepper spray she admitted it was pepper spray but says that it was not hers and it was thrown to her.
By then she did not have to say anything more, for even some who sympathized with her were convinced that she was a congenital liar.

Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi & Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu -Genus : Al-kataki dua sejoli (Two frogs of a feather)
Jamaluddin (PKR-Behrang ) after being incommunicado for some time worrying not only his political leaders but family and friends as well, when finally contacted said that he was missing because he was having back problems and was seeking treatment in Pahang. He also said that loyal to PKR. A day later, he resigned from PKR.
He was later to appear at a press conference specially set up for the frogs to announce that they are now Independents friendly to BN.
Together with Mohd Osman Jailu (Changkat Jering) he was facing corruption charges and many cynically opined that now that they are BN friendly the charges are likely to be dropped.
In recorded conversations which were played before a court in early November 2009, Mohamad Imran (who went undercover for MACC) was heard asking (the late and former Perak Development Corporation technician) Ruslan as well as PKR assemblyman Usaili Alias, another accused, several times to set up meetings with both Mohd Osman and Jamaluddin.Imran caused a furor in court when he refused to how much MACC paid him for the sting operation.
Former Perak Tengah district councillor Zul Hassan was also charged with accepting sexual favors as an inducement, He allegedly had sex with a Chinese national at an apartment in Batu Feringgi, Penang and it was said to be captured on video. It was a classic plot involving sex, lies, betrayal and video.

MACC did not micro manage the sting operation, they paid agent provocateur Mohamad Imran to do whatever necessary to bring to book those PKR assemblymen, the RM180mil housing project did not exist, that's why Initially Nizar defended them because there was no such project, so how is one to take bribe ? MACC only needed to record them accepting the bribes to charge them, never mind that the project was a fabrication.
One of the counsel pointed out that framing people like that is illegal in US and UK , its called "entrapment" the judge said there is no precedent, so the counsel for the accused, asked the judge to make this case a landmark precedent. If the judge does that, It means the accused could go free on grounds of entrapment, and they will keep their positions as independents supportive of BN, call me cynical but I doubt they will be convicted and forced to vacate their seats triggering a by election in their constituencies.

Badrul Hisham - Genus : Al-kataki Al Tiduri (Sleepyhead frog)
Port Klang assemblyperson Badrul Hisham Abdullah declared on 29 October, 2009 that he is quitting PKR with immediate effect.
At a news conference to announce his decision, Badrul said he would remain an independent assemblyperson and would support BN.
He said he made the decision as he had lost his confidence in PKR's leadership.
"I made this decision on my own free will without any force or threat or benefit to myself." he goes on and incredibly says this
"In fact, this decision is based on my moral and religious principles as a Muslim," not explaining how it is relevant to his lackluster performance.
He also cited that his constituents being sidelined as another reason.
Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid had in late October asked Badrul Hisham to quit as an assemblyman because he had failed to discharge his duties effectively.
In fact RPK related how he was asleep at home on polling day and had to woken up at home to be told that he had won.
These calls were made long before Badrul made those grand proclamations, in fact according to some reports he was even given a show cause letter.
Many residents complained that he was not around most of the time. On 02 November, 2009 some residents of Port Klang held a peaceful protest
asking Badrul to step down with banners emblazoned with the word 'Tak nak katak' (We don't want frogs)
On Nov 17, 2009 when he attended the state assembly sitting for the first time as a BN friendly Independent, expectedly he met with a cold reception
from his ex party colleagues, starting with Rodziah Ismail, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) state executive councilor who sarcastically said
"I’m surprised to see Port Klang here,” I was earlier mulling whether his new political allies at BN would coach him on some intelligent questions he could pose.
He however asks about the Hybrid Wireless Infrastructure Network (HyWIN) implementation which was promptly replied by State Exco member Rodziah,
to which he replied "Thank you YB Rodziah" He then goes on to ask a supplementary question (or so he thinks) as follows :-
“Port Klang should be given priority because of its contribution and I hope the executive councilor concerned will give it importance.”
Am I missing something or is that even a question ? More like saying something for the sake of hearing ones own voice.
Deputy Speaker Haniza Talha then ticked Badrul off and gave him a lesson on state assembly protocol in a stinging rebuke:
“When you are addressing someone in the assembly you should refer to them by their constituency and not their name.”
So what has he been doing in the last 20 months if he is not even familiar with state assembly protocol ? Sleeping would be my guess.
Tan Sri Khalid is truly kind, if it were me I would have sent him half a dozen show cause letters and warnings and sacked him long ago.

916 - Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) and his 31 frogs
No discussion on frogology is complete without touching on Anwar's attempt to topple the federal government with a crossover of at least
31 frogs scheduled to take place on 16 Sept, 2008 which did not materialize. If there is a maestro who can be associated with frogology, Anwar is that man.
He is the conductor who oversaw the toppling of the PBS government in Sabah in 1976. Much has been written and debated about 916, however
allow me to touch on a few salient points.Much has been deliberated on the morality of such a method but very few asked or contemplated why.
Many said that it was unprovoked and was a plot cooked up by Anwar without prompting, we all know now that BN attempted to take over the
states of Perak , Selangor and Kedah in the early weeks of the 308 political tsunami when BN was sulking at the loss of 5 states and its cherished two-thirds
majority. So to say that 916 was initiated without any prompting is not entirely true, offense as they say is the best form of defense.
When BN continued to sulk and were in denial of the 308 tsunami the 916 declaration began to take on a life of its own and started to gain support.
Many within BN said Anwar was bluffing and when 916 came and went without any frogs showing their flippers, many within BN said they knew it was
a hoax all the time. Was it a hoax ? I think not and here is why :-

1) The crossovers were real enough, otherwise the BN would not have sent 49 assemblymen on a so called agricultural tour to Taiwan

2) A reporter was arrested under ISA allegedly for her own protection, Teresa Kok arrested for flimsiest nonexistent reasons, is UMNO that stupid ?
They knew it would blow up in their faces but it was a trade off, to send a message for MP’s in BN
who may have pledged to crossover, a clear message - we can arrest you without rhyme or reason.
Both were released but RPK was deemed too dangerous and released much later thanks to a fair judge,
RPK's astute counsel Malik Imtiaz Sarwar and various pressure groups.

3) When the DNA bill was first tabled there was a call for an ISA debate, very few from BN showed their hands
including those hidden trojan horses within BN, the fear is real- if they had special branch would have swooped in on them
at the slightest suspicion - the same fear that is keeping PI Bala & Hindraf supremo Waytha Moorthy out of the country.
So it is simplistic for BN to say that none of their MP's admitted they were crossing over.

4) Technical factors like the ratio of Malay and non Malay composition of the proposed pakatan government,
(please read RPK’s piece- "Its in the arithmetic stupid " http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/12085/84/ )
also a labyrinth of constitutional minefields that can be exploited by UMNO to declare the takeover illegitimate.
(As shown in the Perak coup d'etat that brought about many constitutional and legal conundrums)

5) Engaging the support of BN voters, yes we share the same country, and if DSAI can show that he has sound ideas
to steer us out of the economic doldrums, they are less likely to riot at UMNO’s instigation if the government changes.
BN has already convinced many that while the government is grappling with the economy Anwar is selfish and only seeking a personal agenda
of toppling the government. He had to ensure that he didn't provoke riots or the people would never forgive him.

6) Asking East Malaysian BN assemblymen to sign a declaration of allegiance much to their chagrin.

7) Threatening that snap polls could be called at anytime when they became afraid of their own shadows.

8) Discussing the merits of anti-hopping laws for the first time in three decades but only because the shoe is on the other
foot, this was of little concern when they had an impeccable record of winning by-elections and engineered crossovers that
were in their favor.

The morality grounds are nebulous at best and untenable when seen in the context of the following nefarious circumstances :-

1) Abuse of power by arresting political dissidents under ISA on apparently trumped up charges and selective
enforcement of other laws.

2) Questionable purchase of military hardware, hare brained schemes and other actions seen as economic mismanagement.

3) Dangerously playing up racist sentiments merely to garner support for intra party elections.

4) Economic as well as other forms of sabotage of Pakatan led states.

5) BN's attempt soon after the general elections to trigger crossovers in the Kedah, Perak and Selangor state governments.

6) Those with questionable personal integrity appointed to the cabinet and other important government positions.

7) Still sulking over the loss of two thirds majority on 308, this is more pronounced in states where the BN no longer rules.

A 5 year mandate is not a carte blanche to do as one pleases, and if above is not abuse I do not know what is.

The difference between Perak and 916.
There are some who opine that PR should not complain about the morality of the Perak Coup d'etat as DSAI started it with the 916 declaration,
some refuse to entertain any notion difference between the two, saying that they are the same and that principles are principles.
There is a big difference between throwing a rock at a flower and throwing a flower at a rock, in the former you crush the flower in the latter you
honor the rock.I invite them to consider the following :-

1) 916 was declared transparently, without any cloak and dagger operation where elected representatives went missing as in Perak.

2) DSAI promised that after the takeover, and the Election Commission makes changes to the electoral rolls and constituencies,
ridding us of the dreaded ISA and stabilizing the economy, He will call for fresh polls within ONE year.No such timeline was given for Perak.

3) When DSAI claimed to have the numbers to form the federal government, he formally wrote to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi,
requesting him to convene an emergency sitting of Parliament. This was rejected by the prime minister.
The next constitutional option was to press for the dissolution of Parliament to make way for fresh elections. This too was not entertained.
An incumbent government has two options, concede defeat after proof is provided that you have lost the confidence of the majority of elected
representatives or dissolve your mandate paving way for fresh elections allowing the voters decide.
If DSAI had done it Perak style, speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia could have ordered his 31 frogs out of parliament the same way Perak Speaker
V.Sivakumar ordered out the 10 assemblypersons, we may then have a Perak like crisis on a nationwide scale !

The only bone of contention I have to pick with the Perak Pakatan State government is this :

1) They should have dissolved the state assembly when they still had power, RPK and many others myself included were screaming for this
to be done a good two weeks before Perak fell but to no avail. Selangor had better take note of this if a group of assemblymen suddenly go missing.

2) Article 72, Clause (1) of the Federal Constitution clearly states
"The validity of any proceedings in the Legislative Assembly of any State shall not be questioned in any court".
So the PR Perak's state government action of filing the case in court is akin
to giving credence to an action that violates Article 72(1), you then cannot invoke this article when the court does not decide in your favor.
In passing judgment the judge said “the decision of the legislative assembly on May 7, 2009 to remove the plaintiff as speaker and to appoint the defendant was
conclusive and had been fairly determined by the state assembly on May 7, 2009” The irony is the judge had violated Article 72 (1) in deciding to interpret
the state assembly proceedings. You fell right into BN's trap, because you (PR) took the case to court first, had BN taken the case to court to endorse
the speaker they had illegally installed, you could even ignore the courts decision on grounds that it is ultra-vires (outside of its powers)
To make matters worse Gobind Singh Deo took the cue to challenge Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia on his suspension in court to prove a point.
While this elicited cheers from many PR supporters and scored some political points, PR lost the moral high ground.
PR cannot in future talk about the sanctity of the constitution as the highest law of the land when they themselves took actions contrary to its provisions.
I cannot stress enough that setting precedents that trample on the constitution is very dangerous, what if in the future in Selangor, opposition
leader Khir Toyo challenges speaker Teng Chang Kim's decision and takes it to court ? Can Pakatan then cry foul with a straight face ?
Two wrongs do not make a right, you cannot have your cake and eat it, when the constitution is subverted for narrow political expediency expect
domino effects that are unforeseen and with far reaching consequences.

Anti hop laws
To legislate and anti hop law, without repealing clause 48(6) is patently unfair, as it does not afford a
parliamentarian any recourse in event the will of the people is that he changes affiliation.
Maintaining both an anti hop laws as well as clause 48(6) in its current form disqualifies a candidate from public office for the next 5 years also accords no remedy in cases where this mandate is abused or the party whose ticket they stood on change their manifesto or blatantly ignore the promises made in their manifesto.
It also runs counter to the spirit of Article 10 of the federal constitution, freedom of association.
There are similar provisions in state constitutions eg Article 13(5) of the Penang constitution and Article 31(5) of the Perak constitution.
Nazri Aziz once suggested amending Article 10(c) and limits be placed on the freedom of association to define party hopping as immoral.
What Nazri is suggesting while weakening democratic freedom, is no different in effect from enacting an anti hop law.
Having both ( clause 48(6) together with an anti hop law ) in place punishes a person hopping on principles and the blessing of the electorate,
Nazri says that though the candidate is barred for the party can always field another candidate, this presumes that all people vote along party lines,
even if most people do this it takes away the rights of voters who voted based on their trust in the candidate.
Those who support status quo of course argue that if clause 48(6) is repealed some may abuse the electoral process to test their popularity.
The freedom of association argument is often used to shoot down calls for an anti-hop law but with freedom comes responsibility
I think a solution lies in a conditional hop law taking into account all foreseeable scenarios to strike a balance.

Seeking Solutions
It is time we revisited the suggestion made by Lim Kit Siang 31 years ago that I highlight under the caption "History".
I suggest the following measures :-

1) Enact a law where if an elected representative resigns or is expelled from the party on whose ticket he was originally elected, then he should resign his seat
within 14 days and notify the speaker in that time frame in cases of resignation, in cases of termination the secretary general of the party concerned shall
inform the speaker. The speaker shall inform the Election Commission (EC) within 5 days of such a vacancy.
The EC shall call for a by-election within the stipulated 60 days of receiving such a notice. The speakers notice shall not be challenged or interpreted
by the EC. This will force those who change party affiliations to seek a fresh mandate from the voters.

2) Article 48(6) of the Federal Constitution reads: "A person who resigns his membership of the House of Representatives shall, for a period of five years beginning with the date of which his resignation takes effect, be disqualified from being a member of the House of Representatives."
I propose that this be changed to "the date his second resignation in one term takes effect" so as to allow an elected representative an opportunity to change party affiliations if he indeed thinks that his constituents support it but only ONCE in a term and that too complying with the proposed new law compelling him
to get the mandate of the voters, it is unreasonable to change affiliations and trigger by-election more than once in a five year term.
In fact I think curtailing placed by a 5 year linear calendar period does not make sense, it should be defined as ONE TERM because if someone
steps down mid-term he will not be eligible to contest in the next general elections, this may cause some to place proxies who will resign and trigger by-elections
later by the resignation of proxies to conform to the 5 year rule.If a General Election is called or State assembly is dissolved then all counters are set to ZERO.
A balance must be struck between freedom of association and "merry frogs" who hop at a whim.

3) Town hall meeting - For large constituencies registered voters can attend by proxy.
This of course cannot be legislated but should be done by an elected representative as a matter of courtesy if he intends to step down or change
affiliations. When you canvassed for votes you discussed your manifesto with your constituents during the campaigning period but when you hopped to
another party or declared yourself an Independent friendly to another party you should go back to your constituents to explain your rationale for doing so.
You will also be able to gauge if your constituents support such a move and may accordingly decide on whether to make such a move.
If it does not go down well with your constituents then you may want to rethink triggering a by-election in which you are likely to be defeated.
You owe them this courtesy.

Whether you are a BN or PR supporter, please pressure your elected representative to push for such a law to be enacted to protect your rights
as a voter because your vote should not be used as a commodity or bargaining tool that works against your interests.

Mao Tse-Tung once quoted :
We think too small, like the frog at the bottom of the well. He thinks the sky is only as big as the top of the well.
If he surfaced, he would have an entirely different view.

So lets show those frogs that the concern of voters is much bigger than their selfish interests.

Sumpah sakti keatas MACC & PDRM !

Collateral damage to an Indian family in Malaysia! HRP and Hindraf fuming over Police! Indian neglected community?

By Malaysia Hindu Voice

The funeral rites of R Seetha was held yesterday afternoon in Tangkak witnessed by her four children M Darshini 9, M Usha Rani 7, M Yugendran 5, M Navina 3.

Seetha, 33, unable to bear the grief of losing her brother R Surendran who was shot dead by police, took the weed killer, paraquat, and fed the poison to her four children last week.

The children, who are still being treated at the hospital, were given time off to attend their mother's funeral.

R Shankar, the brother of Seetha said that an uncle of hers, an MIC branch chairperson talked the family out of allowing her body to be taken to parliament to protest against the police action.

Human Rights Party (HRP) pro-tem secretary general, P Uthayakumar, described the shooting as 'summary executions' of Indian Malaysians suspected to be involved in criminal activities.

Uthayakumar, disappointed that the protest could not be held due to the latest turn of events, however, said: "Should there be another instance of police shooting dead suspects, we will act.

Uthaya: We will not give up

"We would endeavour to march to Parliament as it is the only supreme body that can direct the police force to stop their shoot-to-kill policy."

He added that Seetha's husband, M. Manimaran, had earlier agreed to hold the march to Parliament with Seetha's coffin to protest the injustice of senseless killings.
The police had also arrested Manimaran over the poisoning of his wife and children, leading several quarters to claim that the authorities were attempting to pin the blame on him.

The 37-year-old lorry driver was however released after Seetha absolved him from blame in a letter from her hospital bed just before she breathed her last.

Seetha's brother Surendran was among five youths, aged between 17 and 24, killed in a hail of police bullets in Klang on Nov 9.

Five-year-old M Kuhendran was supposed to celebrate his birthday with his mother in the hospital today.

But this was not to be as R Seetha, 33, died this afternoon, six days after consuming weedkiller.

The mother of four was said to have taken the poisonous substance after being overwhelmed with grief following her brother's death.

Her brother Surendran was among the five youths, aged between 17 and 24, killed in a police shootout in Klang on Nov 9.

The housewife had also given the poison to her children, apparently telling them that if they drank it, they could go to their uncle. The children are reportedly out of danger and in stable condition.

Met last week, her father (photo: above) revealed that Seetha was very close to her brother.

The police then arrested her husband M Manimaran, leading certain quarters to claim that the authorities were attempting to pin the blame on him.

The 37-year-old lorry driver was however released later while Seetha had penned a letter from her hospital bed, exonerating him.

Human Rights Party (HRP) leader P Uthayakumar told Malaysiakini that Seetha died at 3.05pm at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

He said the doctor had classified the death as "poisoning due to paraquat with multiple organ failure."

Coffin protest in Parliament?

Previously, Uthayakumar had warned that if Seetha died, he would take her coffin to Parliament as a mark of protest against what he described as the 'summary execution' of Indian Malaysians suspected to be involved in criminal activities.

Asked if he would still press ahead with the plan, the lawyer said the family would have to make the decision.

"They called me this morning to inform me that Seetha was in critical condition and the doctors had given up.
"I asked that if God forbid something happened to her, could we push ahead with the protest, and they were agreeable. But they would have to make the final decision," he added.

Uthayakumar, who has been raising the issue of police brutality for years, urged Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to form a royal commission of inquiry into the latest shooting incident.

"Let Seetha's death be the last," he said, adding that the premier should set up the commission just like what he did for deceased DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock.

Teoh had died after a marathon interrogation session by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers. While the official version is that he had to fallen to his death, the family suspected foul play.

After much public outcry, the premier had ordered an inquest.

Probe if there's a 'shoot to kill order'

Meanwhile, Uthayakumar also urged Pakatan Rakyat leaders to adopt a similar approach as to the Teoh case in pressing for a royal commission for the shooting incident.

The commission must investigate if there is a 'shoot to kill' order when it comes to dealing with Indian Malaysian suspects, he added.

This morning, Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaffar rejected an emergency motion by DAP MP Kulasegaran to debate the shooting, saying it was not an urgent matter.

Last week, MIC vice-president and Human Resources Minister S Subramaniam also urged the police to review its standard operating procedures when dealing with criminals.

He said this was pertinent in order to avoid negative public perception.

The police claimed that the five youths were members of the 'PCO Boy' gang, which was wanted for a spate of armed robberies.

According to the police, the suspects were killed when the police were forced to return fire in self defence.

In a statement issued a day after the incident, Federal CID director Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin said when police officers shoot, they do not shoot to kill, but rather shoot to stop the deadly force threat.

"It is clearly within the right of the police to act in self-defence and protect the lives of innocent bystanders," he added.

Human Rights Party (HRP) leader P Uthayakumar today lambasted the police for allegedly carrying out "summary executions" as a shortcut measure to deal with crime.

The lawyer was responding to the police shooting in Klang on Monday which led to the deaths of five suspected armed robbers, aged between 17 and 24. Three of them were brothers.

The deceased were said to be members of the 'PCO Boy' gang which is responsible for a spate of robberies.

Uthayakumar also criticised the English and Malay media for not covering the human rights aspect of the case.

"Can you imagine three coffins in one family house for their mother to grieve. Even in the case of a sudden death in ordinary circumstances, the mother may take a lifetime to get over her grief.

"Here, three sons are killed in the most tragic manner i.e. shot dead in cold blood for merely being a suspect," he said in a statement.

"But the scores of corrupt policemen actually involved in crime are not shot dead. Why?" he asked.
'Sack IGP and CID chief'
The former Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leader also recalled how even 'Botak Chin', the nation's most wanted man in the 1980s, was captured alive, put on trial and only then sent to the gallows.
According to the rule of law, Uthayakumar said, even a criminal sentenced to death must be treated with respect.

He also questioned the rationale behind the government's decision to allocate RM1 billion to the police department in the 2010 national budget.

"What for? To practice short cuts, lower down their efficiency rates, take the law into their hands and to give the police force the wrong signal that they are above the law and can get away with murder?

"And to shoot dead and kill especially Indian youths as a means to reduce the crime rate?" he said.

In view of the latest shooting, Uthayakumar reiterated the call for Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan and CID director Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin to be sacked.

The police on Tuesday denied that they were "trigger-happy".

"When police officers shoot, they do not shoot to kill, but rather they shoot to stop the deadly force threat," said Bakri (above) in a statement.

"It is clearly within the right of the police to act in self-defence and protect the lives of innocent bystanders," he added.
