Anas Zubedy (pic right), the guy who takes out full paged advertisements in local newspapers wishing people "Have A Meaningful This & That" is in the news again. This time around he has come out to attack ABU (Anything But Umno/BN). Anas says that ABU takes the assumption that everyone in UMNO is bad and everyone in the opposition is good. Anas claims that the ABU campaign promotes the kind of unthinking decision making process that is potentially destructive. What Anas is saying that we must not throw out Umno/Bn as a party but only do some 'pruning' and maintain the status quo as he is of the opinion that Umno/BN still has a few good men and women to continue running the country.

The thing that keeps on bugging The Scribe was when the way Anas Zubedy reacted when this statement appeared in the above mentioned article, "Dear Anas, it's time for you to take a reality check. You're either with the Rakyat, who want change and want it now, or be a fence sitter preaching the BN/Umno Mantra of Peace and Prosperity. The choice is yours brother. By the way, The Scribe also discovered that ALIRAN Exco Member and social activist, the late Jubal Lourdes was an employee with Zubedy. The deaths of Jubal and his wife Irene Ch'ng (pic above left) in Bali seven years ago still remains a mystery today." From what The Scribe understands from those who knew Jubal, they would vouch that Jubal WOULD NEVER subscribe to Anas' point of view. THE SCRIBE HAS BEEN TOLD THAT IF JUBAL LOURDES WERE TO BE ALIVE TODAY, HE WOULD BE AT THE FOREFRONT OF ABU, BERSIH AND WOULD DEFINITELY BE ONE OF THE LEADING BARISAN RAKYAT BLOGGERS. IN FACT, JUBAL WOULD LOVE TO SEE BN/UMNO WIPED OUT! For this reason, The Scribe would not trust anything coming out from Anas Zubedy's mouth. The Scribe would rather like to wish Anas Zubedy "Have A Meaningful Life".

I would certainly agree with The Scribe that Jubal would never support what Anas is talking about. I knew Jubal personally. As a devout Catholic, he would not stand for what the BN/Umno government is doing to Christians. Yes, he would be with Bersih and ABU. My question here is that does Anas know anything about the circumstances leading to Jabal and Irene's mysterious death in Bali? Was the vacation to Bali paid for by Zubedy? Why did the BN/Umno owned New Straits Times claim that Jubal and Irene committed suicide? And why did Anas Zubedy not rebuke NST for spinning lies about Jubal and Irene's death???
